Dendrobium Burana Stripe
1 Attachment(s)
Dendrobium Burana Stripe came to me in spike from Carmela's in early October 2015. Flowers began opening in late October. It has been in bloom since then. There are two flowers remaining.
The plant arrived in a 3.25" plastic pot with large bark chunks, and it remains there. It has four canes, the tallest of which is somewhat under a foot / 30cm tall. I understand this plant will get much larger. When the flowers are gone I will repot into a low, wide container to provide more stability, as the plant is quite top-heavy now. The flowers are about 2.5" / 6cm in both dimensions. It It has an extremely faint menthol scent on warm sunny days, but I have to insert my proboscis into the flower to detect it. |
It is lovely.
The Phal-type Dendrobiums do bloom for a long time and, once they get settled, they can bloom multiple times a year. I finally bought another after the kids killed off the one I had for many years. Everyone needs a Phal-type Den in their collection. :) |

Such a pretty flower! Here's to many more canes and blooms!
I got mine from Carmela's too. Although, the smell is more pungent to me... maybe my "proboscis" is more sensitive to such smells. It's not my favorite scent, but at least it isn't like some of the bulbos... pheeew! |
