Pescatorea lehmannii

The queen of the Pescatoreas, this uncommon bulbless zygopetalum has stunning fragrant flowers! The plant is moderately easy to care for but requires specialized conditions to grow and bloom to its full potential. This is one of my favorite orchids.

Thank you. Did the advanced grower you consulted put a low number on the acceptable humidity? Is this considered as susceptible to fungus attack as P. klabachorum?
And I noticed Seattle Orchid is selling them now for future delivery. |
The grower (Andy's orchids) told me this would do fine under low humidity although he never told me about the leaf pleating. He said it should be preferably 70% or above but it has been doing ok under my 25-50% humidity and has bloomed periodically. This one is considered to be harder to care for than any of the other pescatoreas but all are susceptible to fungal attacks. It usually isn't a problem in my area as the fungus only comes in the form of small black spots on this one but my dayana does have some black blotches on its roots although it seems to be growing fine.

Beautiful! Your video is very informative, thanks! I'd like to grow one but it's too big for me.

Wowie nice colored on this lehmannii! Wish I had the space. I'm trying to bloom my Bollea ecuadorana for 3 years now. It grows with large fans but no flowers :(

By the way... it's Pescatoria. I misspelled it wrong the first time, too.

It's so big, nice job.
