Den Roy Tokunaga green flowers?
Hi,
My Den Roy Tokunaga is blooming, but the flowers are green with purple spots. I remember them being white/purple with purple spots. Do the flowers slowly turn colors as they mature? Or did growing conditions affect flowers to lack pigmentation? Thanks, |
I'm waiting for an offspring of cross that has Roy Tokunaga to mature and flower for me (fingers crossed that current growth makes it).....I think they'll turn more white as the flowers age, it's a general plant tendency.

As dbarron said, the greenish-ness may fade in a bit, OR maybe the buds developed in very low light ?

dbarron, thanks - the flowers are starting to whiten a week after blooming. I hope they continue to do so!
I hope that your Roy Tokunaga cross matures and blooms. Please share us photos of your orchid when it does! WhiteRabbit, The orchid's been moved around over and over in different lightening conditions, since I had multiple people orchid-sit over the holidays. I'm glad that it even survived! I've noticed that my Onc. wildcat mostly lacked brown spots (compared to the year before). I was starting to suspect that environmental factors were making my blooms change... I'm not sure... |
