What the heck s that? I see some clown fish(?) and reflections of lights, but what is the red thingy?

Many moons ago, I had a marine tank populated with a mix of local (SC) fauna and a few tropicals. A tiny blue crab - shell about the size of a quarter - was picking stuff off the shell of a flame scallop, and I remarked about the "symbiotic relationship". Symbiotic? Nope. The next day, the crab ate the scallop.
