Naked Jasmine
 

Although it always blooms in the winter, this is the earliest it's bloomed. Mid/late February is typical, although it did go mid January a few years back:

Yes,I admit your title peaked my interest! And around my neck o' the woods some cherry blossoms made an appearance.

The Latin name of this plant is Jasminum nudiflorum, which means "naked flowered jasmine", in reference to its blooming on leafless stems. Sadly it's a jasmine with no fragrance.

Too bad it's been such a mild winter, the flowers look so nice against the snow............
