Bright Red Bloom from SVO for Christmas

This is a first bloom seedling from Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids (from 2014 release, I got carried away - again).

Photo shows the first flower to open. The upper part of the lip is open (like Elaine Taylor 'KS'). The sides are not symmetrical, so I did not bring it along for judging last week.

The second flower has opened now, the sides of the lip are symmetrical, so it is not a permanent flaw. Also, in the second flower the lip does not curl back as much.

Altogether, a nice Christmas present.

Ooooh, as she squeals with glee......I have this one, its so bright and pretty. I so wish I had not broke off my bud and I would have it blooming or soon also. I'm so mad at ME!
