Uploading photos?

Tried reducing size, won't upload. Tried uploading link to flickr photos, won't show up. Tried uploading from PC, won't upload. Tried uploading from android, won't upload.

Is there really a way to upload photos?

I couldn't upload from my computer too. So I do it from photobucket and it works.
Have you passed the post qty to give allowance to post pics? I think it's five posts but I'm not sure.

Post quantity rule? Seriously?

Thanks for warning!

You have to have 5 posts in order to put up a picture. You have them now, so maybe try again. I like to use the "go advanced" button at the bottom, when that link is open click on the little "paper clip" icon. Choose a file to download, then click "upload" . After it is complete 100% click on the paper clip again and your picture file will be there. Click on it and it will insert in your post. Sometimes when doing multiple there can be a snag so it's easier to do them one at a time.

Some people do seem to have problems loading photos for the first 5 posts. It's not the same for everyone though which I can't work out :scratchhead: I don't know when a rule for this was implemented (or even if it was added purposefully) but we have always assumed it was to stop porn which we used to have a problem with from some new posters.

Usually the problem is size of the photo. Not just file size, but pixel dimensions (height and width). On the PC the screen where you upload them tells you what the sizes need to be.

Another problem can be if your internet connection is not a strong enough signal, or is 'flakey'. If the connection drops during the upload it could cause it to abort. The slower the connection the longer it takes to upload and the more chance there is for a 'glitch' to happen to the connection during that time.

On your android it may be worth trying with TapaTalk app rather than the browser. Some people who have problems with photos find this works better for them. I have a feeling this may actually be a route around any possible 5 post rule, but not worked out if that accounts for everyone who has been able to post photos earlier than 5 posts or not :dunno:

You can also put the photos on another website such as Flickr or Photo Bucket or something like that, then link to them from here. See the link in my signature for tips on doing that as well as other tips for posting photos.

Just a thought, but perhpas this info about 5 posts shall be part of "Tips for posting photos". But maybe it was just me having problems at begining. Now I upload via tapatalk and there seems to be no limit on photo size. Thanks RosieC

There IS something about 5 posts... bright red no the first post ;)

That was written when I was more sure I knew the reason, since then some people being able to post before then has confused me, but I left the warning on the 'Tips' post anyway as it certainly affects some users :dunno:

I'm not positive, but it has seemed to me it depends upon which method might be used for posting photos. I think (not positive) that using links in any way is prohibited (blocked) for brand new members, but uploading directly to the post might work :dunno:

I wasn't able to post on Tapatalk until 5 post. Although it wasn't clear as to why. It just said 'you have to wait 20 seconds between posts' when it had been hours. Once I had posted 5, it worked. So I'm guessing that's why.
