Stumped!!
 

I have two mottle leafed paphs and 3 multi-florals that I cannot get to spike again. They along with my other orchids are in a sunroom with temp control that keeps the room approx. 70-75 at day and cools down at night to about 60-62. My Phals rebloom as has a Lycaste. I have a finicky Angraecum that is spiking again but these 5 paphs while putting on new growth have shown no sign of spiking and it's been over a year since some of them last bloomed. I'm stumped. any thoughts for me ?? Thanks in advance

I assume that the 'mottled leaf' plants are Maudiae type hybrids. These are non-seasonal, so they will bloom when a new growth is mature enough, and has been exposed to cooler nights for 2-3 weeks (typically a 10-15 deg F temp drop is required, though Maudiaes are less demanding in this respect).

The multi-florals rarely bloom every year, unless the plant is very large and consists of multiple fans. It takes a while to grow new fans to blooming size. These also prefer higher light than the other Paphs (more like Cattleyas), so you might have less than optimal conditions if you keep them all under identical conditions.

yes the mottled leafed ones in question are Maudiae and the others are stap leafed multi-florals. I had to two other mottle leafed ones rebloom, so the light is the same for all. Hopefully the cooler nights now will kick them in gear. They are all getting regular watering and light feeding. Guess more patience is called for.
