Autumn Scenes At Brooklyn Botanical Garden
Colchicum was my highlight of the day! :)
They need to plant some beautiful Japanese maple trees, oh, well... I'm not sure if someone intentionally left that cute little shoe in the Japanese garden, but it was perfect fit I thought. I saw metallic green colored bee for the first time! I swear it was a bee, not a fly! It was moving so fast and I could barely capture a blurring image before it flew away. I lingered around in the area, but never saw one again, but a bunch of honeybees and big fat bees of some sort. White German Iris was very sweetly scented. Then, the spearmint bushes by the benches. It was a nice visit last week. Oh, they had a bunch of blooming orchids in the greenhouse, but I could not get close enough to them to take pictures. Aerangis, phrags, paphs, vandas among others. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...snqtcwrj9.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sllqfsgwk.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...skuq1xxns.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...s6wy7qhpf.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ss48awcv9.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...spqs8qx90.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...scq4x2zz9.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sz3ajcd38.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...smql6jlcs.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sgwb60op5.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sie5fezuy.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssj3ridfm.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sztedblkt.jpeg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psr4zpfjsf.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps6ycvc0iw.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psecp6l5rj.jpg |

Looks like some kid kicked off their shoe and someone else set it where it could be found....
The flowers are beautiful! My outdoor flowers are all at the end, I think. |
Wonderful, great pictures! It looks a lovely place.

So that's the name. Very fitting!
There was a name tag in the pot, but it only said capsicum annuum ornamental pepper. I knew what capsicum meant, but had no idea what annuum is. still don't. ha~ Do you know if the fruits go from red to black or the other way around?? Most of them were red, but few were black. I think red really highlight the whole thing against black leaves. Quote:

Good to know, thanks!
I think I see about three black ones in my photo. Yeah, I assumed these would be extremely spicy and did not go near it. I have grown a few different varieties of peppers as a kid, but learned the hard way that these pretty looking small ornamental peppers are the worst.(usually not recommended for eating for extreme taste) |
