Is this a sign to re-pot?
 

Good Morning. My orchid going has been going ok for a bit now. I'm just not sure what to do with the loads aerial roots on my plants. Is this a sign that my in pot environment is bad? I know orchids do the aerial root thing but mine are growing into their neighbors pots and everywhere. I'm scared to re pot because I cant just stuff them down into a pot they will break. Here are some pictures. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it.

It seems from the picture, you have some clear pots. Can you confirm if the pots are totally taken by roots? (Looking through the clear pot) If the pot is full, it's probably time to wait for the growing season to repot (it's safer to repot when they are in active growth). If the pot is not full of roots, it can be a sign that your orchids need more moisture, and you should increase your watering rate (depending on the environment and growth conditions). At least that's my guess. :-)

Recently saw a youtube vid about aerial roots and according to the author he says to leave them alone and let the plant take over the entire pot.

Meh, I do like to pot orchids in bigger pots to give their roots a bit more room.

Personally I would have repotted ages ago. Just make sure you repot at a time best suited to the plants.

I trick to putting aerial roots in pots is not to stuff in but to screw or twist in. Clockwise or counter clockwise does not seem to make any difference. Just once started, do not change the direction!

Technically there are no 'ariel roots' They are just roots that are in the air. Orchids aren't like 'normal' plants.

Your plants look wonderful. Having all those aerial roots means they're really happy.
