Hopefully this is the place to post this. I thought I'd let you know, if you don't already, that Andy's Orchids is having a "Bare-root Blowout" sale until the 20th. There are some nice selections at great prices, a list of 65 from $4-12. :D

For example I've order Maxillaria picta, Dendrobium kingianum, & Dend. kingianum v. silcockii, blooming size plants. :)

REALLY would love to get in on that, but it would be way too huge a dent in my wallet if I were to buy enough to justify the shipping cost :(

Andy's has some great stuff, but I have to agree that unless I am purchasing several plants, I can't justify the cost of shipping either.

I could justify shipping if I got around 100 dollars worth. This is my birthday present! The last bunch I bought from Andys, I got about 4 for about 100 (plus shipping). This time I am getting 10 for around 80-90 (plus shipping).

All species Miniatures, and all with lighting 500-1500 fc, Also all intermediate to warm growing, (this is how I have decided to contain my collecting, I get only low light orchids)

I got a species Phal for the regular amount, one pleurothallis (not a minuature, but small, I am hoping, 5 warm growing masdevallias (I loved my Masdie that I killed, but it was a cool growing masdie. Also for some reason I accidentally bought 2 masdie Angulata, but at 7 dollars, I can afford 2. also, 2 small bulbophylums. I love Andys but sooner or later I am going to buy up all his low light orchids!

Andy's is very good. I have bought bare root orchids from him before and they arrived in great condition.

I got a birthday order too, nine plants. A wildly variable assortment, this will be my first stab at bulbo not in flask, cirrho, and a warm-growing masde. With shipping less than a C-note.

:bdayparty: I would have definitely not blinked an eye at the shipping if I was purchasing 8-9 plants. That is totally worth it! I hope you enjoy your plants and your birthday!

My last order was from Andys! I love them. They have all these odd little orchids. I do want to get more. I was actually called by them a while back when the pleurothalis sale was going on, but I really want to stick with low light. And Hola! Estacion Seca in AZ!
