Look what's lurking in my plants!
 

I've been finding several insect predators using my orchids as hunting grounds lately.

Here's a praying mantis hanging out in one of my phals. He blended right in with the stem, so I almost missed him!

And here's an assassin bug hiding in my ascocenda bloom. He's been there for weeks, guarding the buds and blooms, and always has a fly in his mouth when I spot him.

Anyone else find any hidden beauties protecting your orchids lately?

I get lots of spiders, and occasional frogs and small lizards.

I wish we had lizards here! Frogs are my orchids' best protectors. They eat the slugs and snails. Here's a tiny one guarding one of my phals.

Ooof... pardon the flower fungus spots. This orchid was out during a few evening rains. :dumb:

Tree-frog visitor
 

Here are a few pictures of my surprise visitor!

Surprise visitor! This Grey Tree-frog was hiding in the humidity tray for my Masde. This has always been indoors so I am not certain how he found his way into my room.

What a cutie!!
