Peruflora
Has anyone else dealt with this vendor? They are unresponsive to the plants they owe me.
|
I have no personal experience with them but here is a thread from 2013 about this vendor.

yes but face to face at a show. Good plants and good prices. Never made preorder.

I've bought plants from them a couple times. I'm overall satisfied (miss-ID'd plants occur frequently, but that is a part of the game). As with the case with international dealing, the communication can take longer. But generally, they are relatively quick (reply within a week). But sometime they may be in an orchid show in other countries, and it takes longer (especially if the question is something technical). You should keep sending an email once a week or so to remind them. You'll get the issues resolved.

Welcome to the Orchid Board! There is a lot of information here.

As naoki said, keep emailing them, and try to be pleasant. The language barrier is evident at times. The "customer Service" is not US style and the communication seems to be lacking. I think that is mostly cultural?
I too am waiting on plants from a previous order in May. Apparently they had an issue when they shipped the plants stateside, they froze on the flight over. I am supposed to receive my plants and replacements this month. I did get an email today that they had some issues with the paperwork to get the plants to the US and that the plants would be coming at the end of the month. I've had some mis-identification issues with a few plants. This is aggravating, but not the end of the world. I probably won't be ordering from them for a while. Perhaps I'll preorder if they are going to be at the San Francisco show in Feb... maybe. |
I usually order from them 1-2 times per year; Liana, plants shipped out this week (I don't know where you are at in NW OR, but I'm in Salem and my shipment arrived Monday)… Ditto what the others have said about mislabeled plants, but I've had that happen quite often with pleurothallids, even using firms here in the states. What email address are you using for your contact attempts?

Adam,
I did receive my plants, well, most of them on the 28th. One of the Phrags was a seedling that was black at the base and had no root. Not fun. Was also short a plant. I will say that at least this time they contacted me within a couple of days to tell me that there was one plant missing. This is an improvement. I think I'll ask for a refund for the 2 remaining plants. I don't want to fool with it any more. I didn't realize you were in Salem. The weather is very nice, barring the rain! But I guess we need it. |
I got my plants, Out of 4 plants, one had a few leaves break off in shipping, one had the new lead broken off, and 2 were Not included in the shipment.
They emailed to ask if I wanted to pick up the two missing plants at an orchid show next year, when they visit the US. |
I also had missing plants in my order, with the same offer; one thing that sometimes irks me about international orders is receiving confirmation that your order is placed, having paid for it and then having it be short... Given the long lead time in order delivery, I'd expect to know before the order ships that it's missing plants (and either have a immediate credit to my account or substitutions); it seems they could just have the little "check for substitutions" box on the order form and be done with it. The plants I received were of good quality, but the ordering process this time has been less smooth than in the past.
