Dendrobium Spectabile not growing

Last year I bought a very young den.spectabile (2 years from flower size).
During this year it produced two new growths, but from last spring is not growing anymore. :(
Today I checked the roots. they're fine, no rot roots, but they're not growing.
What's going on? :(
Summer should be the growing season for this kind of orchids, am I wrong? what should I do?

Mine also seemed reluctant to grow until I boosted up the seaweed extract and heat a bunch. I'm not sure how the weather works in Italy, but you they do need lots of heat! I would give it a push in the spring with a higher temperature setup and see if you can get something to happen!

How often do you fertilize?

Seaweed extract? really? I used coconut fiber from my palm tree in the garden, because it worked for the other orchids, but in this case, nothing happened.
Here in the mid-south italy we have warm springs (77-79 during the day,62-64 during the night) and hot summers (96-100 during the day, 71-73 during the night). Plus, this summer has been long and hot, and we still have warm temperatures around 78 during the day (but the nights are too cold for this orchid now, we are around 59).

Well, Campchi, this should be the problem. I don't fertilize it.
I used to do it last year, but then I stopped for the winter even if this orchid hasn't a winter rest, and I didn't do it anymore.
Do you think that this should be the main reason why it's not growing?

Yes, seaweed! It works wonders. Whenever I get shoots, I get roots first. Healthy root growth is necessary! I think you should start a regular fertilizer regimen as well, your temperatures seem just about perfect for spectabile as long as you can keep humidity and sunlight.

I will try seaweed extract and a regular fertilizer regimen! thank you theloyalplum, it's very interesting to learn what other people use to help their orchid grow healty.
May I find it in the aquarium shop?

You can find seaweed extract in hydroponic stores. It can be pricey.

You say it is a young plant so how tall are the canes? If it is mature enough to bloom the canes should be about 2 feet tall.

My other question is how often do you water it in your heat. This Den needs to be moist all the time.

The tallest cane It's about 11 inches. In the hottest days I water it every day because it takes also the full sun. I vaporize it every morning. In the coldest days I water it when it is going to dry out but I don't allow it to dry out completly
