Blc. Golden Emperor 'Valley Isle' AM/AOS
I've had this plant for almost four years now and this it it's first blooming. The latest growth is substantially bigger than the rest cause I have provided more light and fertilizer this year. It has a light scent of jasmine and soap. I'm not too happy with the presentation of the flowers though because they are too close to each other preventing them from spreading apart. The flower itself is very classic and has a very nice form in my opinion and maybe next time the flowers will be evenly spaced. Thanks for looking!

Wow, that's stunning.

Gorgeous big lips!

I've had this plant since 2013. It finally produced a really nice display in June of this year. It seems to like strong light and is a good grower. It's tough getting flowers to display correctly. They don't seem to listen.

Given the name, I was thinking yellow, but isn't this a nice surprise?
I love this white/red combo just as much as yellow/red. They are beautiful!!! About the flower presentation, I feel your pain. Often, these large poofys do that. Oh, well... |
Beautiful cattleya! Semi-albas are some of my favorites. Flower presentation can be a problem with modern hybrids. Unfortunately it's in the DNA of the plant so there's not much you can do about it. That's a very nice cattleya though.
