Show off your greenhouse and what would you change?

As days get shorter and nights get cooler, it's becoming abundantly clear that a greenhouse sure would be nice.

I have drooled over greenhouses for the past couple of months and after visiting a couple of commercial operations, the idea is solidifying in my head that we're going to go the greenhouse route when we buy our home.

So, what does your setup look like? What do you like about it? What would you change, add, or take away?

In my wildest dreams, it wouldn't be a greenhouse, it would be a conservatory! :) Separate "houses" for different growing conditions with companion plants and live trees to freely mount on. A waterfall in one with a taro pond and wasabi pond (that stuff is expensive!). Something like the cloud conservatory in Singapore!

Also, vanilla farm with planifolia and tahitensis.

Maybe a separate rooms just for bulbos because of their... aroma.

In reality:
A good sized greenhouse or glasshouse on a bright hillside. Large enough to be partitioned into a cooler side and a warmer side. Artificial lighting to prolong day hours in the winter. Built in heater (biomass) and AC for the very hot days, ultrasonic humidifier, standard ventilation. Standard plumbing with hot/cold coming from a rain collecting cistern, passive solar heating?, RO rig if not. Frame anchored to a foundation just in case nature gets crazy. Windows/Panels of the house would be double pane to insulate. Drain in the center like they do in commercial kitchens.

oh heck with waiting...I just started building one....step one...CEDAR!....hmm, had to rebuild the little back porch anyway, so I might as well enclose it for a gh! YEAH! so, I scabbed on to the corner posts with 4x4 cedar, and put two of them up next to the house to join to....ah, back up, got to put up a header...ok, cut the posts next to house dug out some of that awful asbestos stuff and planted in a 2x8 treated thing. ah heck, the window in the wall under the header had to be reset...uh, reframe and waterproof that whole dang wall....check...

I will move on to a new thread, as I don't want to hijack this one....

Completely agree with your shared idea of standard plumbing, recently my friend opted for plumbing service*Morris*county NJ to get the standard plumbing setting. I too liked her Idea so I’m thinking also to opt the same for my*greenhouse.
