Phalaenopsis with brown indented spots on leaf
Hello!
I'm a complete beginner with orchids and I was gifted my first, a blooming magenta Phalaenopsis, quite a few months back. It already dropped its flowers a while ago, but before I cut the spike, I noticed a small brown indent on one of the newer leaves. I didn't really think anything of it, but there are now two and possibly another developing. Here is a picture of said leaf: file:///Users/Jackie/Downloads/IMG_3886.JPG As for watering, I typically soak the pot in water once every month or so and mist the leave twice a day. The plant sits in a light area without direct sunlight. Can anyone help me with this? I'm not sure if this is a serious issue or not and I couldn't find anything online that matched these symptoms exactly. Thank you so much!!! |

Try reading up on the care of phals. It depends on where it is sitting, what kind of media, and amount of light. What works for one doesn't work for all. I used my cup holder many times to carry an orchid finally I put a little box in the car. I think the AOS sites has pictures of insect damage, or you can check St Augustine Society they have a great essay on insect damage with pictures. |
