New Growth While Flowering?
I have 6 NoID Phalaenopsis in full bloom and 4 are furiously sending out new growth (roots and leaves). Can anyone help me understand why that is? Am I doing something wrong? 2 are near an east window, while the other 2 are near a south facing window. The east window receives about 20min of morning sun, but indirect light for the rest of the day... the south is always indirect light.
Not sure if I'm posting in the correct place...sorry! Any input would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks! -Chris ---------- Post added at 02:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:35 PM ---------- For some reason my phone puts in TONS of random tags...Sorry! |

There is a common complaint among orchid growers. It goes something like this... "Oh no, my orchids are too healthy. Something must be wrong."
Growth is good. Keep up the good work. Relax and enjoy. |
yes we tend to get worried when things are going too well :)

It's perfectly normal. Some orchids have a distinct growing season and blooming season, but not phalaenopsis. They can grow continuously, even when blooming.

Big thanks to all of you for putting my mind at ease! I thought perhaps I was over fertilizing or something of the sort. Relieved to know they're just happy and healthy :)
Go ahead and add me to the list of: "Oh no, my orchids are too healthy. Something must be wrong." That's exactly what I assumed, haha! |
I agree with everyone else, perfectly normal and a sign it's happy :)
