Repotted new bag baby orchid question.

Good evening everyone! So I purchased a bag baby orchid today from Home Depot as I don't have a Orange Cattleya. I chose this one because of the new growth. I repotted it and it had dry but still healthy green roots after a light soaking.
My question is. I didn't realize how chunky the Better Gro orchid mix would be. Cattleyas like a chunky airy mix right? The Cattleya is secure in the pot and I added the bamboo stick and clip for extra support. Just want to make sure the chunky mix is ok. Thanks everyone! |
Looking good. Just make sure to let it dry in between water and it will make it.

I have noticed that whenever I buy bark mix locally whether that brand or others, the chunks are really big and there seem to be a lot of splinters etc. I buy all my bark mix online now. I have been disappointed too many times. I even got some sphagnum moss recently and it had all long stiff pieces in it like woody straw. Learned my lesson there. Back to online media.

For most catts; the chunkier the better.

The chunky bark that I see in that pot should be excellent for a Cattleya. Nearly all of the orchid bark, sphagnum, 'lava rock' and other supplies that I buy come from Lowes or Home Depot.

Thank you very much everyone :)
