Thanks for the design suggestion.. I teweaked it a bit, and the result is WAY better than the one I was working with. Much less steel and welding too, so thanks again!
Here's the final construction. |
Looks nice.

I can't remember who it was, but someone suggested I should use smaller pots. This is why I don't this is a repot of a white Den Nobile that got dried out badly and baked in the sun before I could do anything intelligent.
Other Nobiles are producing 1, 2, or 3 new shoots. Admittedly this plant is a year older, but after getting cooked, once it got a bit of TLC, it has thrown 20+ new shoots. (Not an exaggeration.) |
Nice idea!

Good idea and great job making them!

Makes me so wish I were handy with building/making things! Very cool.

Well done! Already shown it to my husband, to inspire him for our future greenhouse ;)

You are wellcome.
In the large greenhouse where I rent space, we have metal mesh on the north wall. We then use pot hook-clips to hang plants (mostly smaller Cattleya & Dendrobium). They naturally slanted by the shape of the pot. I have erected two metal mesh walls on my bench. There i can attach both mounted plants, and small Vandaceous plants in net pots. The latter by threading a piece of galvanized steel wire up the inside of the net pot. I bend the bottom into a tight hook that catches the bottom edge of the net pot. Finally I bend the top over the edge of the pot, with abt 1" to hook into the mesh wall. |
Very nice and you use much less metal this way.
