phalaenopsis problem

I am a beginner and have a couple of phaleanopsis that has some long white marks on the leaves that look they were made by some insect body in the leaves, but I don't see any insects. Sorry can't get photo to load.
Other than that the plants seem healthy and are blooming. I am thinking that the marks are from some insects but I am not sure what insect. Any thoughts????? Also please instruct on how to get rid of them if this problem is insects.

Thank you
Jean

If you have no insects it might be from the prior owners culture and care. If the streaking occured while in your possession pictures and more detailed info about your culture would definately help. Unfortunately, damaged leaves will stay the way they are.

There are insects that leave white marks on plants that you cant see...they tunnel within the leaf itself. But I have not heard of them being a problem with orchids. But you never know. Have your plants had exposure to the outdoors?

Jean, it could just about anything without a picture, past cultural enviroment and/or insects. Here is a website that was shared here on the board, thanks Tind, has photo's and a lot of info... http://mrec.ifas.ufl.edu/lso/Manual/...-text-only.htm. I use a magnifying glass and flash light to see whats creeping around my chids. I am not very fond of anything that moves. Give the board a shout if you need help uploading...
