Rescued orchid - Aerides multiflora (Corrected ID) Advice/suggestions please :)
1 Attachment(s)
Rescued this orchid clump from roadside, It was on a dead tree which was being sawed down. Part of it was squashed under the fallen tree and had to be discarded. One of the shoots has 3 blooming spikes. In total there is 4 matured shoots (already bloomed / with pods) and many baby plants.
Please help me revive this plant so that it can be grown at home. I am a newbie to growing orchids and I would really appreciate some inputs and suggestions on how to restore this to full health again... Species: Aerides multiflora (ID corrected) |
Since it was mounted, you should keep it mounted, and try to duplicate as closely as possible the local area it came from. If you are living close to that area, that should be easy.

Thanks for your reply.
Should I separate the plants? Since there is soo many of them and all connected to each other... |
I wouldn't seperate them unless you wanted to give divisions to other people. I personally like large orchid specimens.
Where do u live that you found a rhynchostylis retusa growing roadside? Must be someplace very nice! I soak mine daily and fertilize it once a week. |
This is an Aerides multiflora (and not R. retusa). Should have checked the floral structure more carefully. My bad.
Mods please correct the title please.gif @ Plodde I live in Assam, India :waving As suggested by "Optimist", I am planning to mount the whole thing tomorrow on a small plumeria tree.. |
