finally phrag kovachii hybrid!!!
 

I finally became a member of our local orchid society after years of wanting to join. And how can I be so lucky that the month I joined a member of the society is moving to cananda(wish that could be me),and selling all his plants and with my bad luck the last few days he is selling phrag Frits Schomburg, and a pure kovachii but it goes for R1700 way out of my budget. Besides I was looking for a besseae anyway. The person selling him has an oped day next week at his house in sandton where he will sell all his plants. He also has Jason Fisher and some strange cross. Can't wait till next week.:biggrin:

That klotzsch hybrid is stunning. I want one. And then I want it crossed to dalessandroi or besseae.

Nice find. To bad you can't get the kovachii but it is out of my budget as well.

How large cant the Frits Schomburg plant get as well as the flowers?

I just bought a Fritz Schomburg from Ecuagenera in March. It was in spike. I had a bloom and there is another bud growing. The 2nd bud got knocked off before it opened. My first bud was 9.5 cm wide and a deep red. Orchid Wiz shows average awarded blooms just over 11 cm. wide. The plant is about the same size as most of my Phrags, although only one growth at the moment. Maybe a foot or 16 inches tall at most in its pot.

That flower is so nice

He sent me some articles about the kovachii and in one of them it says that the Fritz can get a flower length of 15 cm
