New to orchids need tips on charles m fitch "izumi" to be exact

Hi all,
I am looking for help and care instructions on this plant, it is a Charles m Fitch "izumi" Someone gave it to me today, said that she was not very good with plants. I have always wanted an orchid and want to give it the best care possible. Any tips on what to do would be most welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance,
Robyn

There are MANY different hybrids of orchids out there. Can you give us a picture of your orchid? :photo: This will help us determine the general type of care your orchid would probably like best.

This is really exciting for you Robyn! ;) We'll try to help out, just keep asking questions! :twocents: This is a great place with helpful people!:)

In the meantime, don't do anything drastic...regular room temperature is usually good until we can determine how hot/cold your orchids "likes" to be.

As for watering, a rule of thumb is once a week (until we can determine what kind of orchid you have). Water until your roots turn a nice green color and let the water freely drain from the bottom of the pot. :goodluck:
Sorry for the long post!:blushing:

This is a great orchid to grow, lovely flowers for sure.
Couple of things I can tell you about this one.

It loves water, it is very warm tolerate, It doesn't mind tempts drops to 60 degrees, it needs pretty good lighting, its able to take full sun in the early mornings (think catteya) Test first - leave it longer each time.
And .... it doesn't really like being transplanted, so give it time to come around again.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. What I actually did because it's roots resembled the sahara desert was immersed it in a bowl of water and I swear it has grown at least 3 inches in the 2 days that i have owned it. I will post a picture of it though. :photo:
Thanks so much,
Robyn
