Bacterial Brown Spot?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello!
I have had this Phal for over a year now. About 3 months ago I noticed one of the leaf tips changing colors, it changed to black. Now another leaf has started this. After researching it seems very close to bacterial brown spot. What do you all think? How would you go about treating this? I have read hydrogen peroxide as well as physan, I have both but really hate using physan unless totally necessary. Also, should I cut it off or leave it? I have read both. As for my other orchids, should I prophylacticly treat them? They are all in a close space together. Any other suggestions? This phal holds a near and dear place in my heart and I'd hate to lose it. Thank you, Court |
Additional info: No it's not exposed to a extreme amount of light, it's in a inside green house under the same conditions everyday. Humidity and watering have stayed consistent as well. Also, i run two fans inside for circulation.

I'd cut the end off and treat the cut with cinnamon or Listerine.
It would probably be a good idea to separate it for a while. Joann |
If you do cut the tip off, which I have just done to a baby Catt, make sure you cut about 1/2 inch away from the rot so you get it all.
