My flowers are upside down

Hi, well my den. Unicum is flowering and its flowers are upside down, Can i/ should i change the orientation of how this plant is hanging?? i can easily move the wire hangar on the fern plank, but will that mess up the plant in general or cause any problems with future growth?

upside down flowers are normal for unicum. don't do anything to the plant

"Upside Down" is your orientation, the orchid is doing what evolution has guided it to do. Part of the beauty and mystique of orchids is that they don't really look like anything one usually sees in a houseplant. Just enjoy the blooms!! :)

Hi , thanks for all the replies, quite helpful. Ill leave my plant as it is, and since all the flowers have bloomed it looks really good, so ill let nature do what it does.

Gorgeous blooms!

Wonderful!

I believe the orchid term is "resupinate" flowers.

Botanical: inverted; appearing as if upside down. I think a key word is "appearing". To the orchid, we're the ones that are upside down ;-) |
