Dendrobium Spring Dream 'Kumiko'.

Hello all my orchid seems to be getting this mold . I bought it on March 30,2015.

I remove it a few times from the pot and the mold washes off . But it keeps coming back. I googled it but I can't seem to find something similar to this type. It is only growing towards the bottom of the pot.

If anyone can help , thanks .

Are you sure those aren't time release fertilizer pellets? That's what it looks like to me. The roots look great. I notice your plant is near a huge bunch of bananas. Ripening fruit (especially bananas) can cause your blooms to finish sooner and buds to blast. It is the ethylene gas they give off.

No they aren't time release fertilizer pellets. I can literally wash them off but they come back. The roots, blooms, canes don't seem to be harmed. I actally put the plant there for photos only since I didn't have good lighting at the time in my living room.

I just recently discovered the fruit ripening and had to evict my orchids from the kitchen . 9 months ago.

Interesting. Once it has finished blooming I would definitely re-pot. The media looks rather fine and dense. Maybe wash the root ball in a bit of water with antibacterial dish soap before potting it in the new media. I'm not sure what else to suggest. Are you keeping it overly wet?
