Aerangis ( somalensis x mystacidii ) First Bloom Hybrid
2 Attachment(s)
Hello All,
This is the first bloom seedling of the hybrid in my growing conditions. Seems to be a fairly vigorous cross, the flowers are a little under 1 inch across and have a 3 - 4 inch spur. These flowers were sweetly fragrant in the evening and many of the other plants I have are producing 2 - 3 spikes on their first bloom. The only thing I'm not pleased with is the longevity of the blooms. These first flowers only lasted 3 days before fading, subsequent plants that are flowering currently seem to last only 3 - 4 days before fading. I'm really hoping that this is just due to the youth of the plants or the unusually warm weather this time of year. Has anyone else flowered this hybrid out? -Edwin |
Wonderful!

Stunning - I don't have this one. I hope you get better longer lasting blooms on your next flowering, although I personally enjoy the curvy leaves of this one almost as much as the flowers.
PS - I just realized that the person selling all those awesome interesting angraecoid species is you! |
Congratulations on the beautiful first blooms!
