Bugs on dendrobium

3 Attachment(s)
I am repotting a dendrobium this morning, and while soaking it in the tub, I noticed that it had quite a web entanglement on the top of one stalk and leaf area. After further inspection, and some hosing to get the web free, I noticed these dangling under one of the leaves. What are these and what do I do?

These are Lace Wing eggs. They are orchid friendly. You can leave them there.

I also have been seeing on numerous plants, bugs that resemble ants, running from leaf to leaf, pseudobulb to pseudobulb, as well as tiny black bugs that seem to be some sort of spider, as it hangs from the plant (almost can't see them).

Any ideas on these?

The little things that run like ants might be thrips. They look black, are fast and hide quicker than an ant. They will cause a lot of damage esp. on flowers and buds. They suck out what they want and kill the bud and disfigure vanda roots, flowers and many other flowers. Orthene is the best to keep them away along with other pests. I get them frequently thought the year because there are ficus hedges close by (not mine). Gardenia also attracts these nasty buggers.

Lorraine, I will look into these thrips and see if it may be what I saw earlier. These critters I saw on what I believe is a Cattleya of some sort, but it has not flowered in many years!

Thank you.
