I have had this plant two years. It had a single spike when I bought it in June 2013; it set two spikes in 2014, and it has 4 spikes this year, albeit not synchronized.

It is a simply hybrid:

Ascocentrum curvifolium x Vandofinetia Virgil (= N falcata x Vanda cristata)

The curvifolium influence has increased the flower count significantly, and contributed to the spectacular color. The influence of V cristata is very pronounced in the lip color & structure.

I happen to have both Asctm curvifolium & V cristata in bloom too, see separate threads under the Vandaceous header.

I love that color! I am a sucker for anything coral :)

For those attending the SEPOS Show this coming weekend, this plant will be in the Deep Cut OS exhibit.

Sometimes good things happen to those who wait. I bought one of these at the WOC in Miami, from a vendor from Malaysia.

The plant did not grow well for a number of years, so it had never bloomed for me. Over the past 12-18 months, it started to come around, and today I discovered it was covered with flowers on 3 spikes.

Contrary to the C&H plants, which were bred with Asctm curvifolium as pod parent, this plant was bred with Vandofinetia Virgil as the pod parent, and the difference in flower shape and size is obvious.

Just got one of these. Has a C&H tag so I assume Asctm curvifolium pod parent. The lip isn't quite a strongly colored as yours, but it is lovely and very fragrant.

Any culture tips? I assume similar to the Neofenitia and Vanda heritage. Bright light, warm, and a 24 hour wet to dry cycle? What media do you use?

There both lovely.
