My Den Nobiles never lose leaves?
 

I have had my Den. Love Memory Fizz going on 4 years now. It's a reliable bloomer. I keep reading that all the leaves are supposed to fall off eventually and i should end up with bare canes. However this is not the case for me. Apart from the odd leaf yellowing and falling of from time to time, my plants keep their leaves. I thought that maybe my nobile was some strange exception. But since that plant, i have purchased more dens. NONE of them are losing their leaves. As far as i know they are all the deciduous kind. Am i doing something wrong? :scratchhead:

It will depend on the hybrid and growing conditions, I have plenty of nobile hybrids and soft cane species that keep their leaves.

Imagine that! I was just thinking the same thing. My Love Memory Fizz also only loses a few leaves And yet reblooms. I kept it dry between thanksgiving & valentines day. I kept waiting for the leaves to fall off but they never did. It has loads of buds, but not as many as when I bought it. My conditions are not like the greenhouse.

It is a Yamamoto hybrid and his hybrids only lose leaves when kept very cool in the winter with reduced watering.

These plants DO NOT have to lose leaves.
