Bulbophyllum moniliforme - just arrived!
1 Attachment(s)
I just received a new Bulbophyllum moniliforme specimen from Thailand! I love micro-miniatures, and this is now the crowning species in my collection when it comes to tiny-ness.
This is my first import - any recommendations as to quarantine procedures to avoid any possible disease or pest spread? Also, does anyone have any experience growing this species? I grow under lights (T5s) so can quite accurately vary the amount of light the plant will receive, but I'm not sure about how much water it wants, how best to get it to spread, etc. Any tips? |
This is an equatorial plant (endemic to countries near the equator) hot to warm growing in medium light(found under the shade of trees).... give it high humidity....your picture shows it has shed its leaves so it is ready to flower or maybe had missed it....they bloom in fall/winter....my plant also came from Thailand ( there is strict export/import issues especially coming from Asian countries=they provide a certificate that it does not contain virus or bugs) but spray it with physan 20 or peroxide just to be on the safe side.

It looks like a neck less.
