Phalaenopsis tetraspis - Found in Sumatra, the Andaman Islands and Nicobar islands. Always hoping for more red spots, but blooms mostly white. Maybe one day!

Lovely! But I like white blooms.

Mine bloomed once and has since been stubborn about spiking. My understanding is it gets the red when under higher light.

Oooh so sweet and beautiful as it is. Very nice.

Many thanks, I was wondering if light level is the factor for the red spots, I will have to move it towards more light to see.

Got it as a gift some two years ago. No clue where it came from :-)

Beautiful flower. Mine is now with two spikes. I'm quite excited to see the flowers.

It's still beautiful. Have you seen the ones others have been posting. I forget who's they were, but some of them have allot of red. I wonder if they get more light. One seems like it was a mod....hum was it Rosie? Now I must go look.

Ok I forgot to write down who the one person was and I found no mod with it but go look at debrasoon's. It has allot of red in it. Then I found one she had and she say's it's an alba. Tommy yours may be an alba one.

Her red one is in Hybrids on the phal part and species of her alba one.

Thanks Shannon, if you look into the detailed picture, there is one light red stripe on my bloom too, I did read these can be mostly white, or with some red or lot of red. I do wonder if it is really light level or this is predetermined with parent plants. Mine is grown in shade like other Phals, there is third spike growing now, so I will try to move it to more light for now to see if the bloom will be more red with higher light level. Still very pretty Phal!

I do think some of it is genetics.
