Shadehouse or Greenhouse?
 

Hey All,

Just looking on what would be a better option for me to control growing conditions ....Purchase something like a Harbor Freight small greenhouse, or build a shadehouse of something like PVC, or one of those Amazon portable greenhouses?

Cooling is a big concern, our summer highs can hit 100 for a day or 2. I live in zone 10b Anaheim about 2 miles from Disneyland, on the dryer side. Winters are pretty mild usually not going below 40 since its in a sheltered patio


Growing Cattleyas, Dendro, and Vanda. My plants are doing well so far under a ficus tree.

I live in Glendale,ca., I have a shade structure and a small greenhouse. I grow many types of orchids outdoors all year round, but there are do many that require a GH to do well that is why I have both. I also have attached several orchids to trees growing in yard with great success. In my area RH in summer is usually in the teens, very low so I have a mist system in shade structure to help cool and give a little extra water to mounts and other plants. You are welcome to come by and take a tour if you like.
