Cattleya lueddemania var coerulea 'Canaima's Friend'
This is a division from Canaima. Beautiful blue cultivar with a deeper than usual indigo lip and bright yellow side lobes... Measures about 13.5 cm, typical of the species, with a very lovely sweet vanilla scent in the evening. Grows in very high light.

Wow! Gorgeous!

Thanks all! The plant is growing in 1/3 top part with tight long moss NZ sphagnum and lower 2/3 styrofoam peanuts., in a clay pot. Many cattleya growers are using this now in California and Japan. I'm still new on it. Basics are water lightly and only when bone dry. Drier longer in winter. Foliar feed is best when growing. Super thrive once in a while. High humidity in day is essential...
Thanks Silken for removing that pic :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wow gorgeous! I will try your mix may be good especially for dry Southern California!

Thanks! Let me know how it turns out! Tip: repot only when new roots are starting. And pack the moss really tight!
