Got this new Den during the Pacific Orchid Show in San Francisco last Sat 21Feb:

Dendrobium Roy Tokunaga 'Spots' - so far holding well, it is still indoors by our dining table, getting bright light from our west facing window.
white with some light green hues with purplish lip

Thanks everyone! It was hard to choose just one from a bevy of orchids during the show. Maximum restraint for me

Now I got to learn what it takes to grow this Den nicely.

So far I have read it is a Latouria Den..so not familiar with it..going to read more and observe more. The cane does look a little different from other dens I care for, this one reminds me of Cattleyas and the leaves are thicker too.

Vendor says it does not go deciduous and they grow it warm and in bright light. I am curious too how long the blooms will last. The roots looks slightly thicker than the other Dens I have, but not as thick as Phal roots either.

So anyone with additional pointers for me...greatly appreciated!

I'm so sad that I couldn't make it this year! How was it in comparison to the shows in previous years?
I actually have one of these seedlings but it hasn't been doing very well on my patio.

Lovely!

I have a one of his hybrid latouria Dens (Royal Wings, which has Roy Tokunaga as a parent) coming in to bloom now (got it about 6 years ago) - Keep media lightly moist, moderately bright light. Blooms can last 3-4 months!

I find mine to be an easy grower and bloomer :)

It is still fun and quite full! There were also more carnivorous plants vendors this year, so had added one more in my collection a Nepenthes.

So when you say not doing well, not blooming at all? Leaves dying?

Thanks WhiteRabbit for the feedback! Wow 3 to 4 months! I love that! Hope this set of blooms do the same!

So do these latouria dens regrow new blooms on previously bloomed canes next time? It seems the blooms are all at the tip end of the cane.

Love this hybrid.

Yes, canes can rebloom. Spikes come from the top of canes, and from nodes between leaves.
