Cattleya perrinii semi-alba
formerly Laelia...
Excellent shape on this one so it earns it's own posting... http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps0a74051a.jpg |
Gorgeous!

Wow. Very nice. Does the s/a have a sheen to it? There is something very elegant/graceful about perrinii. I've never seen a s/a before. I just recently noticed that EOM has a blue clone. It's a shame the flowers don't last longer.

Love it! That little bit of the violet on the lip is just so pretty! Really amazing.

I've had it for several years now and off the top of my head...I don't remember exactly who I got it from but I'm pretty sure it was an import. I'll check the tag and see if I have a name. I have 4 or 5 perriniis (would add more in a heartbeat because I love them!) and I do have EOM's coerulea. I got it a year or two ago and it's still a couple/few years away from blooming. Love EOM's plants but they are all very young. Of course, they have some things you can't find elsewhere and the prices are very reasonable so it makes the wait not too bad. Thanks for looking and thanks for the kind comments, guys. :) |
Must. Add. To. My. Wish. List................today!

Thanks for the comments, guys! Glad you like it as much as I do.
FWIW - I checked my records and it was an import. I got it from Floralia back in 2011. It's not a fast or robust grower but once it gets large enough to bloom...it's worth the wait. Now that I think about it, I have 4 perrinii and none of them are rampant growers so I would say it's just the nature of this species. |
