Paph. appletonianum
 

This is a really nice clone with wide paddles. It's been fully open for 10 days now. I saw a sib of this plant during the Edmonton show on display and when the vendor told me that it was from him. I bought a small seedling. This is a first bloom for me and very pleased with the dark colouration and the shape. I'd like to think that I may have one the appletonianum lottery.

It is much bigger than its cousin, the hainanense. Leaf span is about almost a foot long. One growth plant with a start.
