Awesome! ...but I think I'd lose my mind if I found one of them in my orchid room! :yikes: :faint:

:muahaha: Orchid watchdog!

Holy GuacAHmole!

Those insects are just gorgeous. . .sort of got grossed out with the way the mantis was holding that fly. Gad, it looked like it was drinking a coke! *EEEK*

But I sure wouldn't mind having an orchid watchdog! They're very pretty in pink. lolol

I remember in a book they had a picture of one. It was all pink. I loved it. I wouldn't mind having one. I grow mine in the house, though, so they wouldn't get any food.

look what we found in our garden today

so small that they are slightly less 1cm each ...

looks like they just hatched from the egg pod... hello, world! :waving

its interesting to note that they are black? and not green like the adults? or is this a "black" species?

Such a beautiful insect. A green variety of Praying Mantis used to inhabit my parent's yard when I was a child...Walking Sticks and Leaf Hoppers too. I haven't spotted any in the last several years, probably due to the population explosion of frogs and lizards in Central Florida.

What a nice find. The young or nymphs as they are called are born black and often resemble ants. Looks like you have built in pest control.
