Tillandsia cyanea
 

From my 20 gallon breeder converted into a vertical terrarium.
Tillandsia cyanea. I've had it in the tank for almost ten years. It almost never blooms, but 4 months ago I got one of the Jungle Dawn LED's lights for the tank, and boom.... it flowered.
The quill is actually a stronger fuchsia colour on the other side, the side that gets more light.

This is incredibly beautiful! I have a lot of Tillandsias and they have the most unusual flowers. I do not have the cyanea, maybe I should. I've kept them for a few years and really enjoy them but I do not have them in terrariums. Very nice!

Very cool pic, Caesar. T. cyanea is a really nice species and probably one of my favorites of the genus.

I have one of these. I love the colors. It was in bloom when I got it. I have 2 little pups right now. I'm glad you said something about the light, not sure if my quills are fading due to light or natural process after blooming ends. I think they like strong light but I guess the mother quill fades and eventually turns brown.

These are bromeliads, right? I thought broms died after flowering? And you say this one blooms more than once? Sorry for my ignorance I'm only familiar with Æchmeas.

These slowly die as the pups get bigger.

Tillandsia cyanea is such an outstanding species, isn't it? Even when it's not in spike, he leaves are quite grassy and beautiful with nice deep red veins and flushing when grown fairly brightly. And the flowers, they smell so fantastic, like sweetness and cloves. Even though each bloom only lasts a day or two, it blooms successively over the course of a couple of months.

Mine bloomed last winter, and while it normally blooms regularly, it seems like it may have taken a break. I'm not sad about that, I'm hoping it means I'll get multiple spikes simultaneously the next time it decides to put on a show.
