Neofinetia falcata shoujou
Hi all! Received a neofinetia shoujou (I think some write it as shojo) as a Christmas gift from my sis. (I kno! Great sis!). There seems to be a couple of new growths ( theres 5 mature fans, 2 smaller ones, and one tiny tiny thing that might be a new fan or something else...I'll try to get a picture but I'm not sure I'll be able to focus it well...). Anyone have any pictures of new spikes forming in these guys?
|
If the new growth is a fan, it will look like a mitten. If it is a flower spike it will look like a king's scepter. Congratulations! Yes, you have a very generous sister.

Okay, Here are some pictures of my shoujou...
Second picture... New fan? The last two pictures... New fan or spike? |
New fan. Flower stalks--most of the time--come from the center of the plant between leaf and stem. Very nice, healthy plant.

Thanks Matt! Any new growth is good for me! Notice a couple of purple root tips starting to poke out also. Though, I do notice that some of the leaf tips are drying out/yellowing? You can kind of see it on that first picture. What's this from?

Great plant; awesome sister!

Anyone know when abouts these flower? I'm located in Ontario Canada.... |
They should flower in May or June. Terry from Flora Peculia in Toronto says his flower in June.

I believe that's where my sister bought this one.
