Here's a picture of a 1st bloom seedling of Potinara Denis Roessiger. It is a hybrid of Potinara Golden Circle and Slc. Angel Eyes. The seedling came from Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids in CA).

Enjoy,

I had to look up photos of other seedlings of the cross. Really interesting variations. Genetics is fascinating. I like yours a lot. Some look a bit like a jack-o-lantern face.

I guess that if they receive an email about activity here, then they could possibly be able to answer your question. There could still be a chance heheh.

Many breeders/nurseries have not updated their labels to reflect the latest taxonomic changes. This includes both Alan Koch (Gold Country Orchids) and Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids), both of whom are AOS judges.

There is nothing wrong with using the older names, which at one point were correct. And, in many cases is more descriptive, than the current 'lumped together' genera.
  • If a Cattleya label shows Slc., it is likely a miniature or compact grower. Today it is just a C.
  • Likewise, an Ascda. is likely to be easier to grow & bloom than a V., but today they are all just V.

However, if you wish to use a plant in an AOS sanctioned show, or submit it for AOS judging, you MUST use the current correct genus.
