Phal-How long until my spike blooms?

I have my first ever phal spike....very excited! If all goes well, how long will it take to bloom? It first appeard around Christmas and is now is a little over half the length of my finger. Anything special I should be doing? Thanks!

Depending on the vigor of the plant or cross and the growing conditions it generally takes 2-3 months to bloom.

There really isn't anything special you need to do its already been done. Just avoid hot/cold drafts, don't let the plant get too dry. If you pick up the plant to check and admire your spike put it back with the spike orientated to the sun as it was. You don't want the spike to get twisted and ruin the flowers presentation.

Now would be the time to start staking the spike.

Congrats on the spike! Can't wait to see pics!

:congrats:
Yeah, it seems that around 3 months is typical for me, for most of my orchids, including Phals.
