Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star'

This is a clone that I purchased in a 2-inch pot from Exotic Orchids of Maui in September 2006. Today the plant is in a 4-inch wood basket with no media. It is growing under 50% shade and misted daily; twice daily on warm days.

I have this one too, but let me tell you yours looks 1000 x better! I have mine in a basket too and in order to increase the humidity the basket is in a clear plastic bin with 30% of the plant sticking out the top. It has bloomed for me, but not reliably. I am soooo jealous! Please share your secret :)

Thanks rangiku. Living in Hawaii with the tropical climate gives us a tremendous advantage in growing orchids. For this reason, I always hesitate giving cultural tips in this forum. Our growing conditions are so different from most areas. I envy you growers who are currently contending with the freezing temperatures. We complain when the temperature dips into the 60s.

It's 6 degrees F (-14C) this morning. I wish I were in Hawaii.
