hi all, I have found a source that sells habenarias. these are the species they have,
Habenaria carnea
Habenaria medusa
Habenaria rhodocheila 'pink'
Habenaria rhodocheila 'Yellow'
Pectabenaria Wow's White Fairies
Pecteilis hawkesiana

I would just like to know which is the easiest to grow, and there care. I have had a habenaria rhodocheila 'orange' and a pecteilis sussanae x habenaria medusa, but killed them because I could not find good care sheets.:(

Habenaria rhodocheila and Habenaria carnea are both lithophytes found growing between crevices on limestone hills, cliffs, or outcrops where some vegetative debris get trapped. Sometimes, live moss grow on top of the limestone. If you grew them in straight-up potting soil, that's part of the reason why they died.

They also experience a distinct wet/dry season.

These orchids are not true terrestrials.

Don't know much about the natural history of Habenaria medusae, it's difficult to research. I suspect they grow in rubble with lots of pebbles and vegetative debris.

There used to be a video that was posted by a blogger some years ago, that clearly showed how Habenaria rhodocheila grows in the wild. This is what I based my description of how they grow in the wild off of.

The person has since deleted the video, and it is now more difficult to find visual evidence that demonstrates what I have described.
