This little guy pout out a total of 6 spikes this year! Two of them are either tiny or deformed however. The fragrance wasn't as strong as when I bought it. also, how much light should this oncidium get? I'm a little confused on oncidium culture as I find varying information for the thin leaved varieties.

I have mine in the top of the greenhouse all summer in 70% shaded sun along with the catts etc etc. It doesnt dry out bec I water it alot. Grown in sphagnum. In winter its gone full west sun with 4 spikes and from what I can count about 70 buds(the cold didnt get them..).. Yours seem to have a case of Anthracnose, which is caused by being too hot and not enough humidity or airflow. Keep it cooler with more air, a tad more humidity with good even high light as much as you can give it keeping all the other parameters inline (i.e.Temps/ cooling and humidity). Your leaves should shape up for next years onset of blooms. ;)

Wait..keep it cooler? Is 68 degrees still hot for this guy? I may have to increase air circulation but the plant seems to continuously yellow :(.

68 is good for nighttime...you need that diurnal spread of 10-15 even 20 degrees from day to night. 78 to 85 would be good for a day temp given a lot of light. The more light you give it the more cooling it will need to keep the leaves from overheating. Very tender leaves on them as you 'thin leafed' can burn very easy in a window. So you got to be careful.

I grow mine very warm, upwards in the summer over the past 2 years, in the high 90's.

Im assuming you grow this in the window. Might just need some more light. The yellow could be the Anthracnose I mentioned, Fertilizer might be to strong, or just not getting enough light to keep the leaves green. They arent real pikky plants so being consistent with the culture regardless of how you can provide for them, just being consistent with it will go a long way in getting it looking good :)
