Dendrobium Nora Tokunaga x abberans
I can't take credit for the blooms, this is a plant I bought a month ago at a nearby orchidshow.

Several vendors had this plant, in bloom, but they were asking 25-30€ for it. When I was picking up a pre-order at my favorite vendor's stand, I saw that he also had it (in spike) for only 10€. So with no open blooms I had no way of seeing that the blooms were not so spotted as one of the more expensive ones. So I am left wondering if they are indeed the same hybrid... Unless envoronmental conditions can also have an effect on the spotting? This is the type the other more expensive vendors had https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3931/...d801dac3_c.jpg Den Nora Tokunaga x abberans by Camille1585, on Flickr |
I really think both are great! Is this one fragrant?
|
As far as I can tell, no fragrance.
|
Adorable flowers....
|
Wait, you are disappointed by the color of the plant in the first two photos??
I LOVE them!!! It's like my little Aussie Chip but super white with pink touch! So cute!!! Send them my way (or division) and I will give you one of my Aussi Chips that are spiking. I know you know, but they look more like the spotted flowers in the last picture, although they do not have that much markings on the petals, mostly just on the back side. |
OOO! I'm with NYC! I LOVE it! :D But, both are very nice!
|
I do like mine, I guess the reason I'm disappointed is that I was really expecting it to be really spotted. I guess that I am happy to have it anyway because I've always wanted an Aussie's Chip. :)

I think your's is really pretty! I loved it when I saw the pics. However seeing what you expected I can see why you are disappointed. Yours is gorgeous, just not the same.
|
Now I'm double disappointed, it died over the summer. The leaves developed spots much like sunburn (despite being out of direct sun) and it spread like fire. The plant went from healthy to dead in about a month. :( Being unemployed, I don't want to spend money on a new one for now.....
