Greeetings from Tucson
 

Hello all!
I am a new member and also a new orchid fanatic from Tucson, Arizona. I have had some decent luck with Phalaenopsis, which got me interested in other orchid varieties. Since my outdoor weather conditions are not like what most of you have to deal with, we put up a greenhouse...and that is what I will be mostly posting questions about. I've lurked here for several months, getting answers to questions without your knowing I was around, but now I'm tossing my hat into the ring.

Hello and welcome:) I'm hoping to move to either AZ or NV in the spring (can't take these NY weather conditions with my arthritis) so I'll be following your posts as I'm sure I'll need some type of similar set up. You'll find the members here are terrific!

Judith, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about life in the Southwest. I'm partial to Tucson, of course!
You will find gardening of any sort is entirely different from what you are used to. In spite of what folks say, we really do have seasons, though they don't look like seasons to folks from up North.

Welcome! I lived in Marana for a few years, loved the climate. I didn't grow orchids at the time, though, but I see how it could be a challenge.
