Showing off my FIRST orchid rebloom
2 Attachment(s)
I purchased this Cattleya last year just as at the end of its blooming cycle. It sent up a spike some time later and then sat...quietly...doing nothing.
Last month I moved it from outside to a West window sill with sheer curtains sheltering it from directing sun and then outside of watering, basically ignored it. Last week, I picked it up and discovered two well developed blooms and a few days later I was blessed with these lovelies...the perfect shade for October! I am a happy camper!!! |
Hooray! I remember my first. It's still just as special

Gorgeous congrats! :)

Gorgeous! Does it have a name?
|
I'm checking with the orchid retailer that I purchased it from. Reviewing their online catalog, it might be a Lc. Mary Ellen Carter 'Dixie Hummingbird'...but that is a best guess. The color isn't quite right but that could be due to a number of variables. I'll post a confirmation when I get a response from Seattle Orchid. They are good about getting back.
