Unknown Miniature from Malaysia possibly Bulbophyllum?
1 Attachment(s)
I'd like to identify a small orchid species found on Langkawi Island (Peninsular Malaysia).
The pseudobulbs are dorso-ventrally flattened (up to 12 mm in diameter) with 2 leaves each (up to 20 mm). The single brownish flower (10 mm) emerges directly from the center of the two leaves and resembles almost a flattened tube which is because the sepals seem to be conjoined almost entirely. It grew epiphytically on a fallen tree branch. Might this be a Bulbophyllum spec.? Thanx for any hint! |
I believe it is a Porpax.
Can you get a profile picture of the flower, it would help with further identification? |

Oh cool....yea, that looks similar. I have just a quite bad quality pic of it in profile.
But knowing the genus is already good. Thank you! |
Porpax lanii, I believe.
